Carpentry Company Policies
Environmental Sustainability

In today's climate, environmental sustainability is at the forefront of everyone's minds and we consider it as one of our core policies. We believe that it is essential to consider the environment in our practice whilst still maintaining our excellent standards.
Working together with our clients and suppliers we are proud to be able to resource all woodworking timber and sheet material from FSC and PEFC sustainable sources. The Forest Stewardship Council 'promotes the responsible management of the world's forests. It is a certification system that provides us with a credible link between responsible production of forest products. Their principles include reducing the environmental impact of logging as well as assessing its social impact. Every tree harvested will be replaced by another, whether naturally grown or planted. Extraction is compensated for, unlike in the case of most other materials. Sustainability is not only about quantity, but also about the ecological quality of the resource base- the forest.
Management and Site Supervision
We maintain quality supervision at levels to suit the requirements of the developments and developer. We achieve this by:

| • | Carrying out quality control checks, both on our work and that of other trades and are fully backed up by our Contracts Manager |
| • | Checking drawings to highlight anomalies |
| • | Working to the Contractors Programme |
| • | Monitoring Quality Assurance with checks for the various stages of the works, including formal handover sheets upon completion of all stages of our works |
| • | Liaising with other trades to ensure smooth running of all stages of work |
| • | Issuing progress reports relating to the main contractors programme |
| • | Operating a system of RFI's and CVI's to aid with the construction process |
| • | Producing detailed operations and maintenance manuals |
We have always ensured that the quality of our product is without compromise and we offer one point contact and supervision on all our contracts, which is something our clients prefer.
Health and Safety

Thankfully, health and safety has greatly improved in recent years and we take pride in our excellent track record. We operate with a team of approved, professional and dedicated safety advisers who over the past years have serviced our needs by:
| • | Providing regular safety inspections |
| • | Producing method statements |
| • | Carrying out risk assessments |
| • | Increasing our operative training awareness |
Our managers and site supervisors currently hold 2 and 5 day SMSTS Certificates (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and are first aid trained. Our workforce strictly complies with our current safety policy and we hold regular toolbox talks to keep everyone fully up to date with all health and safety issues.
Craftsmen
Throughout our numerous years of trading we have managed to hand pick many skilled craftsmen all of whom take significant pride in their work. We see our craftsmen as our most valuable resource and so they are always helped to reach their full potential.
We carry numerous quality carpenters and joiners at any one time, all of whom we expect the utmost quality from. All carpentry contractors and other trades hold current CSCS cards. Over many years we have developed good relationships with many top quality carpenters and general builders based over a wide area, which we can call upon whenever the need occurs.
On several occasions we have formed joinery shops on the larger scale sites and produced a wide range of bespoke joinery.
